Our story

Built from obsession.

C-Note Tonic didn't start in a lab. It started on a workbench, with a neglected '72 Telecaster and a frustration that wouldn't quit.

The origin

The problem no one was solving.

Every guitarist knows the feeling. You pick up an instrument that hasn't been properly cared for — the fretboard is dry, the wood looks grey and lifeless, and the feel under your fingers is wrong in a way you can't quite articulate. You reach for a conditioner, apply it, and nothing really changes. Maybe it smells like furniture polish. Maybe it leaves a film. Maybe it just doesn't work.

That was the starting point for C-Note Tonic. Not a business plan or a market opportunity — just a genuine problem that the existing products weren't solving. We wanted a conditioner that worked the way wood actually needs it to: deep penetration, complete absorption, zero residue, and a result you could feel immediately under your fingers.

Two years of formulation work later, we had it. A blend of unrefined lemon oil, carnauba wax, vitamin E, and fractionated coconut oil — each ingredient chosen for a specific reason, each one earning its place in the formula. Nothing added for fragrance. Nothing added for shelf appeal. Just a conditioner that does exactly what it promises.

What we believe

Three principles. No exceptions.

Honesty in the formula

Every ingredient in C-Note Tonic is there for a reason. We publish the full ingredient list because we have nothing to hide — and because you deserve to know what you're putting on an instrument you care about.

Respect for the instrument

Guitars are not furniture. They're played, they're felt, they're heard. Every decision we make — from formulation to packaging — starts with that understanding.

Less, but better

We make one product. We make it as well as we possibly can. We're not interested in building a product line for its own sake — we're interested in making the best fretboard conditioner that exists.

Production

Small batch. No shortcuts.

C-Note Tonic is produced in small batches to ensure consistency and quality. We don't use contract manufacturers or cut corners on ingredients. Every bottle is filled, labeled, and inspected by hand. When demand grows, we'll grow carefully — never at the expense of what makes the product worth using.
